Professional development, humble pie and blog resuscitation

Professional development, humble pie and blog resuscitation

Facebook tells me I haven't posted anything for a staggering 1,047 days. That's quite dreadful!

Well, what better excuse for a new post and for resuscitating a blog that has been lying idle for a while than a bit of good news? I am now the proud owner of a Delta Module One Certificate. I was hoping for a better result, but I reckon I will just have to eat humble pie. My Grade A at Celta three years ago had raised my expectations, so this Pass tout court came as a bit of a disappointment. True, Delta doesn't stand comparison with Celta, if anything else because there is no exam for Celta whereas Delta Module One is assessed on two written papers. Ah well, I must have overestimated my abilities. Still, I guess a Pass isn't bad at all, all things considered: I run my own business and, throughout the Delta preparation course, I juggled my study and full time work, while trying to maintain something resembling a private life. On top of that, I am not getting any younger! So, I am now going to give myself a nice pat on the back and look forward to my next professional development goal. Not in a hurry, though. Delta Module Two will have to wait for a bit. Any comments from previous Delta candidates, successful or not, or from future ones, are welcome.
