Professional qualifications

Qualified Diploma Translator (DipTrans, Chartered Institute of Linguists of London) and Qualified English Language Teacher (Cambridge DELTA).

I have a five-year Degree in Languages from the University of Oviedo, Northern Spain. Before settling in Brescia (Italia), where I set up my Language Consultancy business back in October 2006, I spent some time in France at the end of the 80s. It was there that I had my first teaching experience. This was followed by a 12-year stay in Ireland, which became my second home.

It was there that I had the chance to further my education and obtain a series of Diplomas and Certificates, amongst which the Diploma in Translation of the Institute of Linguists of London, the Diploma of Commercial Translator issued by the Alliance Française and a TEFL Preliminary Certificate. Three years ago, I completed a CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) course in Norwich, UK, for which I was awarded a Grade A. Since I am a believer in continuous professional development, this year I have successfully completed Module One of DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), recognised at Masters level within the UK NQF/FHEQ. CELTA and DELTA are two of the best-known and most popular advanced TEFL/TESOL qualifications in the world.

Parallel to my educational background, I have also gained in-depth knowledge of various socio-linguistic environments as well as direct involvement in various professional activities in different capacities. I am also in possession of a Diploma in Foreign Trade, followed by 4 years’ hands-on experience in the sector. As a result, I am familiar with what goes on in the various company departments and can assist companies willing to embark on an internationalisation process.
